The best part of the internet is its diverse communities. I used to frequent several forums and IRC channels. Nowadays, all my communities have a presence on Twitch and Discord.

I’ll list the ones that I frequent most. Note that I’m more active on some than others.

Bug bounty 🐝

NahamSec 🐝

I’ve been lucky enough to have been a part of this community since the humble beginnings. This bug bounty community, created by Ben, has taught me a lot. It’s allowed me to meet awesome people and make some great friends.

He currently works as the Head of Hacker Education at HackerOne. He’s hacked into companies like Apple, Airbnb, Lyft, Valve, and Rockstar Games.

His streams are always educational and the recon Sunday interviews are top notch.

Hacker101 🐝

A free class for web security created by HackerOne. Whether you’re a programmer with an interest in bug bounties or a seasoned security professional, Hacker101 has a place for you.

d0nutptr 🐝

Nathanial is awesome all-around, always helpful, and very knowledgeable. We met through NahamSec.

He enjoys Rust, both the game and the programming language.

His stream are very chill, cover neat projects, and gaming.

Info security 🐝

The F0x Box 🐝

I also met Peer in NahamSec’s community. Soon after we met, he started creating his own content on Twitch, and I’ve been supporting him ever since.

The goal of his stream is to provide an inclusive environment for people who are new to hacking.

Amass 🐝

Everyone’s favorite recon tool. This is a great place to interact with, and ask question to, the OWASP Amass Project community.

The core team exists of Jeff Foley aka caffix and Anthony Rhodes.

Productivity 🐝

Obsidian 🐝

Yet another knowledge base app, with an awesome community.

What sets this one apart is that it works on top of a local folder of plain text Markdown files. This means you have full control, you can leverage Git, for versioning, and the use CLI.

Other pluses are the rapid development cycle and it’s pluggability. Make sure to visit their forums as they are filled with useful information, tips, and tricks.

Music 🐝

Kenny Beats 🐝

I discovered this community through Twitch recommendations.

Lead by the American producer Kenny Beats who is, as far as I’m concerned, the embodiment of a streamer.

Besides excelling at his craft, he’s transparent, humorous, creative, and selfless. He’s well-known for giving back to his community, seen in his Monday beat-battles.

Development 🐝

Theprimeagen 🐝

I believe it was a Twitter recommendation that led me to find this 10x stream.

He’s an engineer at Netflix. His excitement is infectious and the energy level is always through the roof.

He also has a YouTube channel filled with gems.

Beginbot 🐝

The “Science and Technology” category on Twitch came in clutch with this one.

Begin, same intonation as vegan, is a computer, music, art, fashion nerd living out in LA.

A prolific Tmux and Vim aficionado. Did I mention he uses Arch Linux?

What's buzzing?
